Know About JEE Main Exam 2014:

JEE stands for Join Entrance Examination that is held every year under the supervision of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education). JEE MAIN 2014 shall be conducted both under Online Mode and Offline Mode. However, the application for the entrance examination shall be filled up online only. Students can fill the online application form during the month of November 2013 for JEE MAIN Exam 2014.

Only the top 150000 applicants (including all groups) based on appearance in JEE MAIN will succeed to appear in the JEE-Advanced Exam. Admissions to IIT’s will be constructed only on category-wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE-Advanced.

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates should have cleared 12th exam or any other similar exam.
  • Final year students can also attend.
  • Students who are in Final exam (2 years course) of the Joint Services Wing of the NDA.
  • Students who are in 2 year Pre University Examination conducted by a reputed university may also apply.

Age Limitation:

  • Candidates should not be born after 1st Oct. 1988 while SC/ST/PWD candidates get 5 yrs relaxation.

Fee Structure:

  • General Candidates have to pay Rs.800/- as an exam fee while SC / ST / PWD have to pay Rs.400/-.
  • Fee of General Category for Computer based exam is Rs.500 & SC / ST / PWD have to pay Rs.250/-

JEE Main 2014  Exam Types:

For B.E/B-Tech courses-

  • Candidates can choose either offline or online way.
  • Objective type questions from Math, Physics & chemistry are asked.
  • There is negative marking for incorrect answer.
  • The timing of the papers is 3 hrs.

For B-Arch/B-Planning

  • Candidates have to apply via offline way only.
  • The question paper comprises of Math, Aptitude Test & Drawing Test
  • There is negative marking for incorrect answer.
  • The timing of the papers is 3 hrs.

Examination Pattern:

The written examination paper will be in 2 parts, 1st paper will focus on Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 2nd paper is further divided in to three sections, Section I –Mathematics, Section II -Aptitude Test, Section III- Drawing Test.

Medium of Paper:

JEE provides paper in English or Hindi language. Applicants have to mention the desired language at the time of filling form.

Selection process:

  • Selection of the candidates is based on the 40% scores of class 12th & 60% marks of JEE Main Exam 2014.
  • Few seats are reserved for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

How to apply:

All interested and eligible candidates can apply online through JEE MAIN official website on or before last date of application. After successful submission of online application, please retain a print copy of system generated filled application form for future use.

  1. All eligible and interested candidates should read instructions before filling online application.
  2. Candidates should have a valid Email Id.
  3. Candidates should scan their recent passport size photograph and signature.
  4. Now log on to official website
  5. Click on JEE Main exam 2014 online application form
  6. Now fill all the required options carefully.
  7. Recheck the filled options before submission of online application form.
  8. Make payment through credit/debit/net-banking or other mean.
  9. Take a copy of filled application for future use.

Know About JEE-Main:

JEE stands Joint Entrance Examination, is the common entrance exam organized at all India level. It provides admissions in under graduate (UG) engineering courses like B.E, B-Tech, B.Planning & B.Arch in the guidance of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). There are overall 31 centrally funded technical institutes in India like NITs, IITs offering quality engineering courses in its various disciplines. In 2012, CBSE started this common exam instead of AIEEE & IIT-JEE.

JEE has divided in 2 sections, one is JEE-Main & other is JEE-Advanced. JEE-Main exam enables the students to join IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) & CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute).
